Becoming the Perfect Attack...

It's that special time again; Nike Total have released the T90 Laser II. The follow up to well-acclaimed T90 Laser. Nike also claims that with the New T90 Laser II, you're taking your game to the "next level"

I was skeptical at first because I'm a loyal fan to my Adidas Predators. Nonetheless, I decided to give them a try. First off, the T90 Laser II is wickedly priced at a 150 bucks.

Those boots left my wallet in the intensive care unit. You better believe I was expecting these soccer boots to live up their over-hype. I tried them on for the first time at a pick-up game with friends at some creepy old soccer field. They were assuringly comfortable.

They kept me light on my feet. Another cool thing I noticed were these rubber-looking rings laced throughout the boots. They're like signature Precision rings that you help you control and trap the ball more easily.

Like when my friend Benedict lobbed the ball to me, I chested the ball and brought it down to the side of my foot. I noticed how the ball delicately clinged on to my foot. I could trap the ball with nice touches despite the hard passes Kwame gave me. The new Lasers don't even put the ball too far out in space whenever I do a knock on the ball.

What really impressed me was the newest addition to the Laser II. The SweetSpot shot mechanism on theinside foot of the boots. It helps with accurate placement shots with enough power to score. They also help you make better crosses and passes.

It brought a smile to my face when I curved the ball over Sam, slotted it past him and blasted the ball from 42 yards out into the roof of the goal. I played so well, I would have given Cristiano Ronaldo a run for his money.

The loyal attachment to my old Predators instantly disappeared as I threw them out the next day. Overall, the T90 Laser II is amazing and I recommend it to all attacking role players. You'll be taking to your game to the next level should you be playing on the second floor of a two-storey building.

Music is My Anti-Depressant

Over the past few weeks I have been feeling really down. I haven't been my happy and upbeat self. The funny thing is that I have no idea why I have been so depressed. I kept trying to figure out if it was the encumbering pressure from getting schoolwork done or the fact that I've been single for two years and haven't been able to find a meaningful relationship with that special girl
Not to mention, I've been very distant towards my friends and my social life has taken a critical hit. I went to see a movie at the theatre by myself for crying out loud.
But whenever I get like this, I get on my iTunes and listen to a playlist of slow songs that have the saddest and most melancholic melodies or painful break-up songs. I guess I do it in order for me to relate to and even remind me that my life can't be that bad. As a result, I slowly start to feel better.
The weird part about it though is that it has become an addiction. I look forward to being angry and crestfallen all the time so I can listen to depressing songs. It's just ironic how I find happiness in my state of constant depression.
Some of my friends have noticed that I've been acting different and they ask me what's wrong but I'd be crazy to tell them what's going on with me.

College Life at LU: An Interesting Conversation

My friend Ivy and I went to a soccer game to watch our Liberty Flames play against North Carolina Tar Heels around 7:30 a.m. It was a chilly night but still perfect fall weather nontheless.

We were down by three goals. Ivy and I were passionately cheering our team on and taunting our opponents in hopes of throwing them off their game.

All of a sudden, we got into a conversation about politics. Mostly about the upcoming elections and the presidential candidates. I remember Ivy saying how she was frustrated with how most black people support or are voting for Barack Obama just because he's black.

I happened to agreed with what she said. There is no doubt that there are some black people who are voting for Obama because they identify with him solely on race. But I also added that the ignorance goes both ways. I told Ivy that there are some white people who won't vote for Obama; not because he is for abortion or for same-sex marriage but just because he's black

I've overheard white quadmates in my dorm say they can't believe America has a "nigger" running for president. Sometimes I hear people call him a radical Muslim terrorist and other names that are completely off the wall.

The real problem is that it's just unfortunate how most people in this country are just voting for all the wrong reasons and making premature decisions about each of the candidates. It just goes to show how America is still divided by race.

People who are undecided, nonchalant or just plain stupid need to take the time and educate themselves on the crucial issues that are facing this country and how those issues will affect them. This election is the most important one America will have in the longest time. People shouldn't just vote based on blinding emotions or ignorant views they hold about a particular candidate. People need to find out what policies and what moral views each of the candidates support. That way they can make the best decisions for themselves.
